CONVERGENT DESIGN AND THE 86TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

Convergent Design is proud to announce that our products were used in the production of numerous Oscar-nominated productions. Three Best Picture nominees and one Best Cinematography nominee utilized the Gemini 4:4:4 monitor/recorder.

Congratulations go out to:

Best Picture nominees

Captain Phillips
Director Paul Greenglass
Cinematographer Barry Ackroyd, BSC

The Wolf Of Wall Street
Director Martin Scorsese
Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC

Nebraska
Director Alexander Payne
Cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, ASC

Best Cinematography nominee
Nebraska
Director Alexander Payne
Cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, ASC

All of these productions shot on ARRI ALEXA cameras and captured 2.8K ARRIRAW material to the Gemini 4:4:4, with the exception of The Wolf Of Wall Street, which shot helicopter footage using a C500 outputting 4K Canon RAW. The Gemini 4:4:4 is the smallest ARRIRAW recorder in the world. Featuring a 5” touchscreen and dual 1.8” SSDs, it is uniquely suitable to use in aerial image capture such as featured in The Wolf Of Wall Street, as well as the space confines of Captain Phillips. It is a full-featured monitor/recorder and can be used as the only recorder throughout the complete production of films such as Nebraska

Convergent Design’s latest monitor/recorder is the Odyssey7Q, which builds upon the capabilities of the Gemini 4:4:4, adding a full featured OLED 7.7” production monitor and increased recording options. The Odyssey7Q also includes the unique Multi-Stream option, which allows viewing and recording of up to four simultaneous HD signals.

Congratulations to all of the nominees for the 86th Annual Academy Awards. We are honored to have been chosen as the tool to capture your images.
