Canon HDMI Camera Setup Guide

Canon 5D Mark III (FW 1.2.3)
Canon 1DC (1DC FW 1.3.5)

1. Switch the camera to Video Mode (Dial on the camera image)

2. Set Internal Recording
Menu>Shoot 4: Movie (the Camera Icon) >Set Movie Size >(1920x30 All-I or IPB, 1920x24 All-I or IPB etc )

3. Set HDMI Output*

4. Menu > Setup 3: (The Wrench Icon) > HDMI Frame Rate > Auto, 24p,60/50

5. HDMI Timecode / Camera Trigger
Menu>Shoot 5: (The Camera Icon) >HDMI >timecode
Timecode to ON
Rec Command to ON

6. Clean HDMI output + LCD Mirroring
Menu>Shoot 5: (The Camera Icon) >HDMI >HDMI output + LCD Mirroring

*Note though the Canon 1DC can record 4K internally, the output is HD only.

1. Set Internal Recording
Menu>Other functions (Wrench)>System Frequency 59.94/50

Menu >Other functions (Wrench)>AVCHD / MP4 >Frame Rate 60i/50i/pf30/pf25/pf24/24p

2. HDMI Timecode / Camera Trigger

Menu>Other functions (The Wrench Icon) >HDMI
Timecode to ON
Rec Command to ON

-- C100 Mark II
Menu> Video Setup (The frame guide Icon selection 3 ) >HDMI
Output > Normal** or 59.94* /50*
Timecode to ON
Rec Command to ON

* Only supported by 7Q+ ** Normal should be used for all frame rates except for 1080p50/60 (please see Video Cadence, section of the Odyssey Setup)

3. Clean HDMI output

Menu > Video Setup (The 3rd Icon)

HD Onscreen Disp. OFF
