What’s the difference between Apollo and an Odyssey7Q+ with the Apollo Option?

Nothing is lost when adding the Apollo Option to the Odyssey7Q+ or Odyssey7Q. It is a best of both worlds solution.

The Apollo Option for the Odyssey7Q+ and Odyssey7Q expands and enhances the capabilities of the monitor/recorder, while nothing is lost. The Apollo Option adds an operational mode to the Odyssey. No features are removed from the Odyssey, but some of the functions available in other Odyssey modes are not available when working in the Apollo mode. For instance there is no RAW recording when shooting in the Apollo mode, but if an Odyssey has the Odyssey RAW Bundle activated then the RAW recording modes all remain just as they were.

Likewise there is no performance difference to Apollo functionality between using an Apollo monitor/recorder/switcher and an Odyssey with the Apollo Option. All functions of Apollo are present in both devices. The only difference is hardware-limited from recording certain signals. The hardware limits the original Odyssey7Q to recording 4K signals only by dual-link 3G-SDI or quad-link 1.5G/3G-SDI. The hardware on the Odyssey7Q+ is identical to that in the Apollo, so the Apollo Option on the Odyssey7Q+ will function exactly the same as the Apollo itself.
